This is a CSS file which adds several small tweaks to the default dialog UI of SugarCube 2.X, in order to improve the look of the UI in a way that I personally enjoy. It primarily adds different colors to buttons in the built-in dialogs, but also contains some positioning edits.

Color values are pulled from the SugarCube built-in stylesheets in order to preserve the color palette as best as possible. Please note that this is not intended to be a colorblindness accessibility tool.

Install instructions

If you're using the Twine application, open the CSS file in Notepad or any source code editor, copy the contents of the file, and paste it into your Story Stylesheet.

If you're using a compiler such as Tweego, place the CSS file in your source folder as-is.

NOTE: If you don't see the expected changes in your project, check for the following:

  1. That you copied the CSS file contents correctly
  2. That you haven't overridden the styling in your Stylesheet/CSS (check your stylesheet for duplicate elements and properties)
  3. That you pushed Test/Play again after making changes (if using the Twine app) or that your browser isn't displaying a cached version of your project (if using a compiler)
